This is a Capstone case study by Google Data Analytics Certificate program. In this case study, it was necessary to ascertain how two separate riding groups utilized Cylistic's bikes. The study is conducted by looking at rider data from the previous 12 months, including the number of rides booked, the length of the ride, and the preferred model of bike. Spreadsheets and PowerBI are two data analytics tools that were used to solve and analyse this issue.
Data Analysis sequence:
Ask: What is the problem trying to be solved? How can insights drive business decisions? These questions were asked in order to proceed with analysis then a clear statement of business task was developed.
Prepare: The company's database was used to download the data, which was then stored and organized in the analyst's computer system. The accuracy of the data was confirmed, and any bias or inaccuracies were examined. Descriptions of each data source were generated.
Process: The data was processed for additional analysis using spreadsheets at this step, which involved cleaning, filtering, sorting, and transformation of data. Along with this, a Change log document is also maintained which details all the processes and alteration the data has been gone through.
Analyze: After that, PowerBI was loaded with data for the analysis. Each month's data was visualised, and after that, using visualisations, the data was analysed. The results from all 12 months were then added up to make conclusions.
Share: In this phase, Analysis report is prepared and presented to stakeholders. (In my case, it is being uploaded on my portfolio and presented to recruiters.)
Act: In this phase, using conclusions derived by analysis and recommendations from analysts, required actions are taken, new strategies and plans are formed to achieve the business objective.
